The Joseph Carrel accordina: is love at first sight, a dream, a destiny!

It is as a seller, restorer of old musical instruments, that I discovered this curious instrument called "the accordina", which was invented by Mr André Borel in the 1950s.

​

At 33, it was for me a flash back, which brought me back to the age of 8 with my famous chromatic accordion lessons.

Unbelievable ! Such a small instrument allowing to play almost any style of music with so many possible and unimaginable combinations.

And that's when I decided to make my own accordinas to give them a particularly warm and spellbinding sound.

But you might say "you don't make an accordina overnight". It took me 4 years of studies, plans, prototypes and multiple searches for materials for it's design.

Without forgetting what especially allowed me to acquire an extraordinary acoustic quality: it is the connivance that I maintain with the musicians, whom I warmly thank, because without them the instrument would have been only too personal.

And like that Joseph Carrel accordinas are born!

Since 2011, I have devoted myself exclusively to the manufacture of accordina in my workshop located in Bords in Charente - Maritime.
